From the U.S. or Canadian mainland take a ferry or flight to Vancouver Island. Sointula is on Malcolm Island close to the top of Vancouver Island. The Sointula Ferry leaves from Port McNeill and is about a 25 minute ride. The ferry takes both vehicles and foot passengers.

• The drive from Victoria to to the Sointula Ferry at Port McNeill is about 7 hours (458km/285mi). The drive from Nanaimo (ferries from Vancouver) is about 340 km/211, 4 hours.

• The drive from Comox/Courtenay airport to the Sointula Ferry dock is about 180.03 kms/111.87 miles and takes approximately 3 hours.

• The drive from the Port Hardy Airport to the ferry dock in Port McNeill is about 35 min (38.9 km/24 miles via BC-19 S). There are car rentals available at the airport.

• The ferry fare to Sointula is for a roundtrip. From the ferry terminal in Sointula, turn right on 1st Street and follow the shoreline road (Kaleva Rd) for 3 Km/1.86 Mi to the entrance to Harmony Shores Campground on your left.
